Emily Williams is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the State of Michigan. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Michigan and her Master of Arts degree in Counseling from Oakland University. Emily has substantial experience working with young children through adults, with a focus on adolescents, teenagers, young adults, women and families.
Emily has experience working in intensive community-based, school-based and outpatient settings. She specializes in working with those struggling with depression and other mood disorders, anxiety, relationship and family issues, and parenting. Emily’s approach to counseling is tailored to each individual client, however, cognitive-behavioral therapy, person-centered therapy and motivational interviewing are all modalities that she commonly uses. Emily’s goal for each client is to create a safe environment that allows the client to explore past hurts and struggles and work collaboratively to heal and experience positive growth.
