Victoria Evangelista is a Limited Licensed Professional Counselor (LLPC) working towards becoming a fully Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Michigan. She received her Master of Arts in Counseling from Spring Arbor University. Victoria is also a member of the American Counseling Association and a Nationally Board Certified Counselor.
Victoria’s counseling techniques include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person-Centered Therapy (PCT), and Solution Focused Therapy (SFT), utilizing approaches that include mindfulness, role play, motivational interviewing, and Reality Therapy. She believes in eclectic psychotherapy, merging multiple approaches to support the needs of each client.
Victoria specializes in treating those with grief and loss, PTSD, depression, anxiety, bipolar, trauma, couples counseling, family therapy, substance abuse, child abuse, reproductive issues, and suicidal ideation. She has worked with adults diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), young adults with emotional and physical disabilities, Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), and Mild Brain Injury (MBI). Victoria completed a two-year internship at McLaren Hospice and volunteered for two years helping patients with dementia.
Victoria’s work consists of embarking on a journey with her clients, stepping into their experiences, viewing their perspectives, and developing an understanding of each client. She thrives to create a safe and welcoming environment, a place clients can feel comfortable sharing their experiences. Her goal is to establish collaborative relationships, working together to navigate the healing process. As a Christian, Victoria incorporates faith and spirituality to guide her clients and promote an understanding of God’s plan. She believes following God’s path leads to a self-exploration that ensures personal growth and long-lasting change.
