Ashley Kraut pursued her graduate degree at Oakland University, and received a Master of Arts degree in Counseling. Ashley is a member of the American Counseling Association and is a Nationally Board Certified Counselor. During the seven years prior to receiving her degree in counseling, Ashley worked with children who have developmental disabilities, assisting in the children’s emotional and intellectual growth. Ashley continues to have a passion for working with children, and individuals with developmental disabilities. Since receiving her license in counseling, Ashley has worked with adults and children in both in-patient and outpatient settings.
Ashley has a history of treating depression, generalized anxiety, social anxiety, self-harming, adjustment concerns, life transitions, relationship issues, anger management, trauma, and has experience in crisis situations. Ashley typically utilizes cognitive behavior therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, or humanistic treatment approaches during sessions. However, treatment approaches vary according to each client’s individual needs. Individual, group, couple, or family counseling is provided. Ashley also believes in utilizing the wisdom, truth, and healing that can be derived from the Bible and prayer. Ashley is an active member in her church community through her involvement in children’s ministry and the worship/arts team. Ashley has been married for three years, and keeps Christ at the center of her marriage. Ashley strives to create a safe, accepting, and warm environment for clients to embrace their therapeutic journey towards self-exploration, insight, strength, and healing.
