  • Molly Sweet

    Graduate Clinical Intern

Molly is a graduate student in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program at Oakland University and will graduate in December 2023. Prior to being accepted into the program, she received her bachelor’s degree in communication from Oakland University. She has always been interested in human interaction and the uniqueness of our stories, which fueled her passion to join the counseling field.

Molly is passionate about helping others and meeting each client where they are while providing an individualized counseling style. Her person-centered, eclectic approach stems from the idea that everyone has a unique set of experiences and counseling does not have a “one size fits all” formula. It is important to Molly that she provides a safe and accepting therapeutic space for clients that is free of judgement, opinion, or fixing. Molly provides an empathetic and affirming approach to all clients.

Throughout her clinical experience during practicum at Oakland University, Molly worked with clients that had a variety of needs such as anxiety, depression, LGBTQ+ related topics, life transitions, career guidance, self-acceptance, violence within personal and familial relationships, and grief and loss. Molly recognizes that it can be difficult to approach the challenges of everyday life while struggling in other areas and it would be her honor to walk alongside you wherever your journey takes you!
