Tina Felcyn is a Board Certified Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). She earned her Masters of Counseling Degree from Oakland University, her Masters of Science Degree in Student Affairs & Higher Education from Indiana State University and her Bachelor of Science Degree in Health Science from Grand Valley State University. She has also obtained an advanced specialization certification in Infant, Children and Adolescent Counseling. Tina enjoys working with children, adolescents and adults; along with couples and families. She has experience treating anxiety, depression, postpartum, self-harm, grief, abuse, trauma, parenting challenges, obsessive-compulsive disorder and substance abuse. Tina has worked with clients for pre-marital counseling for Christian faith marriages, annulment counseling for the Archdiocese of Detroit and court ordered counseling for parenting issues, anger management and substance abuse.

Tina’s counseling philosophy involves the sharing of personal problems, concerns, and stories with a professional who is skilled at helping the client come to a resolution or solution about their particular situation; this is a very personal process. Counseling focuses on helping persons resolve developmental issues, situational problems and complex personal diagnosis. Tina’s approach to counseling uses Person Centered, Dialectical Behavior and Cognitive Behavioral Therapies. As a Christian and a counselor, Tina knows that faith and spirituality often plays a part in the healing process and she encourages her clients to explore their own beliefs and integrate them within the healing process. Tina does not have the “answers” to the client’s “problem” but is a facilitator of the process that helps the client take responsibility and come to a resolution.
