Cristina received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology as well as her Masters of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. After graduation she worked in a psychiatric hospital where she had the privilege of working with patients who were going through a severe mental health crisis and in need of stabilization and this is where she realized her passion for counseling. From there Cristina has gone to work for a local crisis center and the National Suicide Hotline where she has counseled many callers who were suicial, homicial, or in a variety of other mental health crises.
Cristina’s background has an emphasis in crisis intervention, mental health stabilization, and helping those with persistent mental health concerns. She has worked successfully with both adults and adolescents with a variety of mental health concerns. Cristina strives to provide an integrative approach to counseling to meet the needs of her clients by pulling from many different theories to best suit the needs of her clients. While largely based on a person-centered approach some of the theories that she tends to lean towards include CBT, DBT, and Solution Focused. Cristina prides herself in offering her clients a safe space in which to work towards their goals and navigate their therapeutic journey together.
