Karen Weier
MA, LPC, NCC
Karen Weier is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). She received her Masters of Arts in Counseling from Oakland University, and her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology/Counseling from Rochester College. Karen is a member of the American Counseling Association, is a Nationally Board Certified Counselor, and is a member of Psi Chi National Honors Society.
Karen enjoys working with adults, children and adolescents, couples, women, women in life transition, and groups. Karen has experience working with those that struggle with depression, generalized anxiety disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, conduct disorder, and learning disabilities. Karen has a desire and passion to come along side of others, to help them discover that even though they are struggling with the burdens of daily life there is hope for change. Karen strives to create a healing environment, a place where her clients will feel comfortable sharing and exploring. She will provide unconditional positive regard, kindness, encouragement, hope, compassion, and safety. She believes that through therapeutic techniques; Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Humanistic Therapy, and Faith, that her clients will become whole, healthy, and will be able to have a life that is purposeful and filled with meaning.
Prior to pursuing her career in counseling, Karen raised her 2 children, and worked as the Director of Children’s Ministry at her church.
